Thank you for your question. Botox doesn't have any contraindications on a Facelift. You can have it before or after. You are fine to have Botox now. All The Best
Assuming you have healed normally (as assessed by your PS) from your LOWER facelift, it should be perfectly fine to have botox in the upper facial region at this point in time. If you had procedures around (or including) your eyes, then it would be best to wait at least an additional month or so until all swelling and distortion resolves. In our practice we advise our clients to return to us at 2 months post-op to have their "after" pictures. We certainly prefer the client to not have any botox and/or fillers placed before this visit simply so that we get an unbiased assessment of the work that was performed two months earlier. Once that visit is completed (with pictures taken) we usually advise the client have their injections.
There's no specific reason why you cannot have your regular Botox injections 3 weeks after your lower facelift. However, if you're concerned about it, I suggest following up with the physician who performed your facelift -- or get a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
If there was not much swelling after the surgery, to the areas that would be treated with Botox, I would see no problem doing the Botox anytime after the facelift. If there was swelling which was affecting the appearance of the areas to be treated with Botox, I would probably recommend waiting until the majority of the swelling was gone before having the Botox injected.
Hello dear.I believe that three weeks are sufficient for your face to recover enough for having Botox done..Yet I would suggest you to consult with the surgeon who has performed the previews surgery so he can give you propper advice based on you state. Great Question. Many times I inject patients with Botox or other Fillers/toxins, and or Fat grafts in areas outside the surgical field while the patient is under - to reduce the experience of any discomfort. One can have areas not operated on injected whenever everything is stable after surgery. So if you need to get rid of those last few wrinkles in areas not treated - go for it.
Thank you for your question. You should be fine to have Botox 3 weeks out from your surgery provided that you did not have any additional procedures done that would cause the treatment areas to be swollen.
Dear Jelllyb, You can have Botox immediately following a facelift procedure. I often use Botox right after surgery or this can be done also at the time of surgery. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
It is perfectly fine to have Botox following a facelift. Many times this can be done at the same time as surgery. Ask your surgeon for his opinion.
