How long does it take for accutane to be completely eliminated from ones organism?

Thanks for your question. This is a question that we
get asked often by our patients.

Accutane has a half-life of 18-20 hours so in 5 half-lives
(100 hours), its out of your system completely. In other words, as long as you
don't pregnant in the 1st month after stoping accutane, there should be no
issues. To be on the cautious side, I tell my patients to wait 2 months but any
longer is not needed.

Accutane is out of your blood in 2-3 days after stopping the medication.   The effects may linger for another  month or two.   I recommend waiting 2 menstrual cycles before getting pregnant.
