Can jaw surgery improve my facial asymmetry? (Photos)

Question

See attached photos. The right side of my face protrudes farther out than the left which results in rather unflattering facial asymmetry. I completed Invisalign a little over a year ago, and now have a decent bite, however I am curious if jaw surgery would be the right procedure to fix my facial asymmetry.

There are many aspects that go into jaw surgery and planning for it. Having jaw surgery is about improving quality of life. Things to consider: do you have sleep apnea or breathing problems? Do you ever get jaw pain or have difficult eating? How well do your teeth align? From the outside, you appear to be a good candidate. I am surprised your doctor or dentist never brought this up. I would be curious to see xray imaging. My advice would be to go see a craniomaxillofacial specialist for a better assessment. If you qualify for jaw surgery, most of it should be covered by insurance as well. Keep in mind that with jaw surgery, your teeth and bite will be realigned, so you will need to be followed by an orthodontist as well.
