I have heard that Alexandrite or Diode lasers would be best for my skin type but none of the clinics I am considering have those. However, I have also heard that yag lasers are good on fair skin with dark, thick/coarse hair which I do have on some areas, but it is fine in others. Please recommend what you think would be best!!

You are in luck! Laser hair removal is most successful on light skinned individuals with dark hair. The physician can adjust the energy component of the Yag when treating the coarse hair vs. fine hair for the best results on both.

Thanks for your question. Any of the lasers you mentioned can be helpful for hair removal.  Even IPL or Intense Pulsed Light can give a fairly long-lasting result if you have very fair skin and dark hair.  Your dermatologist or laser specialist will most likely do a test spot with whichever laser they have to see how you respond before proceeding with full treatment.  I would recommend consultation with an expert who has experience and happy clients in your area for the best outcomes.
