Would Fraxel laser be helpful to get rid of atrophy on cheek after a cortisone injection? (photo)

I recently got a cortisone injection on my cheek for an acne cyst. A few weeks later I noticed my cheek has a small indentation and some discoloration where the cortisone was injected. My derm recommended I use a topical retin A cream for 6 weeks and then possibly fraxel. I read some info on this particular problem but never heard of anyone using fraxel. I don't want to make the situation worse if it will heal naturally. Please give me feedback ! Thank you !
