Good question! Fraxel works for acne scarring but the depth the scar might be more effective to treat with non-surgical option (subcision), microneedling/PRP, or Deep Fx (fully ablative CO2 fractional laser).  Another option that some of the other posted below that we recommend and use in our practice is the semi-permanent filler (5 years), Bellafill.  The best answer to your question would be provide by seeing a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon that is well versed in these techniques.  The ability to assess the depth, movement of the scar, and appearance with animation is critical. It is asking too much for a laser to stimulate collagen enough to fill your scar. I would consider a filler to elevate the scar. My preference is Bellafill because of it longevity.

Fraxel RePair and the 1550 Dual may stimulate collagen but not fat. In this context of atrophy my suggestion is to wait 3-5 months. Take standardised photos, then compare the results after waiting this time period. Your dermatologist may have other issues he/she would like to address with Fraxel, so unable to comment on this.
