Can someone please explain what happens to weakened muscles as botox wears off. I've had bad headaches after botox.

I'm worried when it starts to wear off if my muscles will now be too tight causing worse headaches.I'm currently 4 weeks post op. This is my first treatment. 15 units in 11 lines and 15 in forehead.

Thank you for your question. Some people get less headaches with Botox, others get more headaches.  You just have to try it, and determine if you were helped.  You can also check your insurance plan and see if Botox is covered for migrain use.  The injections points are not al l the same for cosmetic and migrain use. I hope this helps!

I appreciate your concern, but I am not aware of any research documenting causing headaches. There is lots of evidence that people who suffer from migraine headaches show improvement after Botox treatment.

your muscles do not get tighter after botox injections and botox does not usually cause headaches related to tight musclesthe effects of botox will wear off very slowly over a period of three to four months.ask your doctor if you can take something to help your headaches.

When botox wears off it is a slow process. The muscles do not get tighter. But if you are prone to migraines and the botox helped with the headaches, then they might recur when it wears off..
