Are there any other effective or FDA approved cryolipolysis systems like Coolsculpting in USA or any where else?

CoolSculpting is the only FDA approved device in the US to use cryolipolysis to freeze fat cells away. However, there are many practices in the US which are using Chinese imitation devices and claiming that they are CoolSculpting. The safety and effectiveness of these devices have not been established and I would caution against using them. Make sure you are under the care of an experienced physician provider. Thank you for the question.  Be careful when comparing systems.  CoolSculpting can get a 25% reduction.  We have found it to be very effective for the love handles, abdomen, bra area, arms, thighs, neck, and other areas. We have found that treating the area twice usually improves the fat cell kill significantly.  Other physicians I have spoken to have found similar findings.  The fat cells die and are taken up by the normal cell disposal mechanisms of the body.  Liposuction is a surgical modality that is usually more dramatic, with a greater reduction. The fat cells are physically removed with liposuction. A tummy tuck is a surgical procedure that can be very powerful in the right patient.  Again, the CoolSculpting non invasive, no surgery, no downtime.  As always, the modality should be appropriate to the individual patient.   Best to see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, who can evaluate for all modalities. FDA is a branch of government  for the United States  , other countries have different governing boards for their approval process of medical devices . Currently Coolsculpting is the only device with fda approval in the United States for cryolipolysis . Coolplas I believe is a device manufactured in China Only CoolSculpting by ZELTIQ is (U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510 (k)-Nr. K090094). Competitive systems claim that because CoolSculpting is FDA-cleared and their devices are based on the CoolSculpting system’s technology, their systems are therefore FDA-cleared. The claim is false. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration does not clear for marketing a technology, it clears for marketing devices. To date, the FDA has cleared only CoolSculpting. In fact, the CoolSculpting system is the only one to have both FDA clearance and a medical CE mark. A device claiming to perform identically to CoolSculpting’s treatments cannot piggy back on ZELTIQ’s FDA clearance without going through the FDA clearance process itself.
