What is the difference between contour thread lift, silhouette thread lift and Nova thread lift?

The Silhouette Instalift, is a two component thread with mini-cones attached.   The cones lift the overlying tissues of the mid to lower face and upper neck.  These threads and cones are placed bidirectionally, both directions, within the skin to anchor and lift the overlying tissues.  The angel and placement of the threads/cones is crucial to have a natural and refreshed appearance.  Over a 6 months period they are gradually absorbed by the body, as they stimulate your collagen to add volume and shape to the face. The lifting and collagen stimulation lasts up to 2 years.  This is variable and depends upon the individual age and condition of the skin.  Thus, the contour and laxity of the face are improved over the 2 year time frame.  Nova threads are a single component threads that also stimulate collagen and are good for more moderate lifting of the skin and they have a much shorter time span for lifting and collagen stimulation.  Having a consultation with a Plastic Surgeon who has both artistry and technical skills will be a an excellent starting point.   

The Silhouette Instalift is a great product on the market compared to  prior versions and is at this time the only FDA approved thread lift (however, Eurothread is getting approval).  Recent data states that the results last for minimum of 6mos to 2 years.  However, the lift is not the only change that is seen, the PLLA that is a component of the threads results in collagen turnover. Nova and Eurothread are Polydiaxnone instead of PLLA. There is not the same robust data about PDO as there is for PLLA for collagen turnover. Recent data has shown that patients are satisfied with the results 2 years out despite the loss of the lifting from the threads due to this collagen turnover. It led to a more plump and full cheeks.  I recommend that you see a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who has extensive training in this technique. All the best.

The Silhouette Instalift, is made of a PLGA suture with a microsuspension technologycomibining small knots and cones acting like mini- anchors. The cones lift tissues of the mid tolower face and neck. The threads can be placed bidirectionally to re-position the areas ofconcern. Over a period of time 0f 4-6 months, the threads and the cones are absorbed butcontinue to stimulate longer- lasting collagen production. Results can last between 1 and 2 years,depending on the number of threads used.Nova threads are made of PDO material that also stimulate collagen and create moderate liftingof the skin. However, they have a shorter life span (about 3 months) than Silhouette Instalift.
