Could I have burned my face with Perfect Derma Peel (even if I followed directions to the letter)? (Photo)

I had the Perfect Derma Peel done at my dermatologists 2 months ago. I had no problems, no pain & left the office with a nice tan. Even left it on overnight. Tonight I did it myself : during, my face felt on fire (7/10) now-3 hrs later (3/10). No tan at all-just really red. Like a bad sunburn. The only difference I can think of from prior experience is I went over my skin a few times more than my MD did. Is this redness normal or is it possible I burned my face? Should i just wash the tx off?

Based on your photo, it appears that your skin could have been burned from your at-home treatment. Any time you are using a professional-grade chemical peel, you need to be sure that it is administered by a trained and experienced professional. Otherwise, you could significantly damage your skin. I would recommend consulting your cosmetic surgeon’s office to assess your skin’s condition and suggest the most appropriate treatment options to expedite the healing process and minimize complications. Hi Ingrownobsessed,There is definitely a chance you have burned your face with this peel. When you get a treatment done by a professional, they are trained to watch how the skin reacts to what is being done to your skin. If the MD only went over it a certain amount of times, it is because your skin had reached the point where continuing would result in harm to the skin. The fact that you had this treatment done by a professional initially and then administered it yourself is also cause for concern. A product like that is only available to professionals. I assume you purchased the peel off of the internet which is not going to be the same treatment you had done at the dermatologist. There is really no telling what you put on your face. Please follow up with the original doctor that did the treatment and stick to professionals for your skin care treatments. Best of luck!
