Botox on chest muscle. The muscle has recurred after 3 months. Is this normal?

Hi Doctors. i'm a 29 year old male and about 3 months back i had botox injected into my chest to reduce the bulky appearance. it worked for 3 months and now the muscle has recurred. Is this normal? I'm told to go back again for another round of botox

Botox is a temporary fix to relax the muscles.  Most patients find that it lasts for about three months.  It is great that you got the result you were looking for, and totally normal to go back for a new series of injections.Best of Luck!

Yes, this is normal. The normal longevity of Botox/Dysport is 3-4 months and needs to be repeated at this interval to be effective. Be well

It is absolutely normal for botox to wear off rather quickly in the pectoralis major muscle as it is a very large muscle group requiring a large amount of botox and a more frequent use of it. If you wish to decrease the bulk of your pectoralis, you should sign up for routine injections using botox every 3 months for the first three years. Good luck from New York City

If, in fact, you do have muscle hypertrophy and not a fuller appearance from underlying rib prominence, repeated Botox injections will serially weaken and atrophy the muscle.
Botox effects last an average of 3 months. You will need to return for more.

Yes this is completely normal, the results of Botox usually last three to four months. After several injections of Botox over time the muscles will become more relaxed, leaving the look of your chest less severe.

Hi.  Thank you for your question.  It is common for Botox ( especially in the large chest muscles) to wear off in a three month period.  For some patients, even in much smaller muscle areas botox can wear off at the same rate or last much longer .  You will most likely have to plan on getting your treatments every three months.  Best of luck to you.

Hi, I have used Botox (Xeomin or Dysport) for 30 years.  Injecting a neurotoxin (neuromodulator) will weaken a muscle but the effects last about 3 months.  Repeated injections at regular intervals ( shorter than duration of effects) will cause the muscle to atrophy and decrease in size and bulk.  I've used this method to reduce the Masseter Muscle.  I've not heard of this being used to treat the Pectoralis muscle but you're probably looking at 6 - 12 treatments to get a significant reduction in muscle size and bulk.Hope this helps.
