What would be the best approach for this chin Lipo skin irregularity? (See photos). April 2022 is one year from procedure, I was told this would adjust on its own within 6 months with regular massages, no progress. Looking for local NYC practitioner, procedure was conducted in Los Angeles. The "line/ridge" follows the perimeter of the Lipo and is visible via the sides, front and is soft to the touch. 1 suggestion included treatment with a very diluted steroid injection.

Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in.

Hello,
Your irregularities are most likely secondary to how you wore a garment after the lipo. Swelling may turn into scar tissue if it is not being healed properly. The best option for you is to have a revision of your chin lipo and your physician have to smooth it out from inside. It is not going to go away otherwise. Make sure to find a board-certified physician who has plenty of experience performing chin lipo. Good luck.

Hi and welcome to our forum!
From your photos, there appears to be a ridge of soft tissue fibrotic scar. which has entrapped the underlying subcutaneous fat.
There are multiple options of treatment available, including:
1. soft tissue massage...has proven unsuccessful
2. ultrasound or RF energy application to affected area
2. submental Kybella injection to emulsify the underlying fat. It is composed of deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your body, which aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.
3. secondary small cannula liposuction to eliminate the fat pocket
4. open surgical correction
I would hesitate to employ steroid injections as its use may cause significant pigmentary color change of the skin in the area of injection.
