Follow-up Question: Will anxiety and neck cracking cause Botox migration? What should I expect? 1 day post op.

Question

Had botox today in my forehead, glsbellar and brow. Was nervous and stressed both before and after. Tried my best to relax. I have as i wrote in a previous question, a minor whiplash in my neck. So Im use to having a constantly cracking neck and back but today both before but especially 5-10 minuters after the botox-treatment it cracked ALOT in my neck and shoulders. So question; will that and the anxiety pressure (heartrate etc) cause migration? Im so very stressed about this. What to expect?

The movements you described and the stress itself wont cause botox to migrate. Its the way its reconstituted or diluted that can cause migration sometimes. Also massaging it after instead of only applying pressure, as well as vigorous exercise, lying down immediately after the procedure can cause some unwanted complications, most commonly ptosis of the eyes, droopy eyes.

After getting Botox, it's best to not exercise, press on the treated areas, or lay down for the next 4 hours. You should have no issues, the product takes about 2 weeks to take full effect.

Given the circumstances you describe you should have no problems with the botox migrating to other areas.

The action of neuromodulators is on the neuromuscular junction, blocking the release of acetylcholine, thereby stopping the frontalis muscle and the corrugator supercilii muscles from contracting. Anxiety and neck cracking will in no way affect how botox works in this area.
