After arm lift with liposuction, I have creases and pain when I bend my arms. What caused this and can it be corrected? (photos)

I had an arm lift with liposuction 10 months ago, and now have creases on my arms just above the natural fold at my elbow, and pain when I bend my arms. The creases mostly disappear when I straighten my arms. The pain increases the more I use or bend my arms during the day, and is worse in my right arm. I am 60, and prior to the surgery I lost 70 lbs through diet and exercise. The creases and pain started immediately after the surgery and have improved very little since then.

HI GardenGirl2017, Thank you for your questions and pictures regarding your arms after arm liposuction. Since you are now 11 months from your arm liposuction, I would advise you to revisit with your plastic surgeon. Because of your arm asymmetry, I would suggest arm liposuction revision. This is a relatively minor procedure. Often, arm liposuction revision can be performed in the office under local or IV sedation. Good luck. You appear to have an irregular contour that may be improved with revision surgery.  You need an in person consultation to determine your options and the cause of your discomfort but you may benefit from some lymphatic drainage and physiotherapy.  Return to your surgeon for a review.

Hi and welcome to our forum!From your photos, I can see subtle contour irregularity which potentially can be improved with revision. From your history, it appears that you may benefit from exercise and / or physical therapy to improve range of motion and strength. I cannot visualize significant residual swelling but the photos offer only a limited view.I recommend an thorough evaluation by a board certified plastic surgeon to determine the value of physical therapy and to ascertain the source and treat the origin of your pain.Best wishes!
