22 Years Old, Laser Hair Removal on Face to Thin out Beard.

Question

Worst Decision of my Life. Any Advice??? Last year, I received laser treatments on my face with hopes of thinning out (not eliminating) my beard. Silly me for imagining this could ever be possible. I got 3 treatments & touch-ups and am not only left with patchy facial hair, but also diffuse redness (probably broken capillaries, etc.). So sad.

All is not lost. The good news is that you are young and only had 3-4 treatments so there is hope that your hairs will grow back. Depending on your hair growth pattern you could see a gradual return to fullness with time. If not, there are several options including medication and PRP injections which you would need to consult a Plastic Surgeon or Dermatologist about. As far as the redness, it is difficult to tell without a picture if you have broken capillaries, rosacea or any number of other skin conditions. Again you should consults a physician to discuss your treatment options. Good luck!

Thank you for your question. You may see a gradual return to of your hair as you only had 3 treatments done. If you do not see a change you can try PRP to help improve hair growth. It is difficult to determine what the cause of your redness is without a photograph. I recommend having a consultation with an expert to determine the best treatment plan for you.

I am so sorry for your experience.  You should visit with your physician who treated or supervised your laser treatments.   In 20 years, i have never seen redness or broken blood vessels from laser hair reduction.  Unfortunately, the beard hair is difficult to treat and sometimes the results may be patchy.  Stay skintastic.

The redness can easily be treated with the Excel V laser or Vbeam. It will require 1-3 treatments. I don't do beards for that very reason. It is always patchy. You can try PRP to improve hair growth.
