My face has very uneven skin tone. This is bothering me a lot lately, because it removes my confidence whenever I want to go out. And the spot that has darkened a lot is the area around my mouth. Please help

Hi @luk. Thank you for sharing your photo. I would suggest you consider hyaluronic acid dermal fillers like Restylane Defyne for your nasolabial folds/laugh lines. In addition, I recommend a chemical peel for the hyperpigmentation you are experiencing.

However, you would likely benefit from some filler in you nasolabial folds. There are a lot of options that could be considered for evening out your skin tone, from topical medications, to lasers, to chemical peels. To maximize the likelihood of a favorable outcome, I recommend that you only get treated by a well-trained and experienced dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Hope this opinion is helpful to you. From your photo it appears that you have hyperpigmentation (excess pigment) in the nasolabial folds, along your upper lip margin and your chin.  The treatment depends on the cause: melasma, post-inflammatory pigmentation, eczema, contact allergy or other cause.  My first recommendation is that you see a dermatologist who can get a full history from you about your skin health, what you've applied to the area and your symptoms if any.  Then she can prescribe over the counter or prescription creams which are usually the first step to treat hyperpigmentation in skin of color rather than jumping to a procedure.In terms of your 'laugh lines'.  That term usually refers to crow's feet around the eyes which doesn't show in your photo.  If that is the area of concern, possible options may include botulinum toxin (botox, xeomin, dysport) and/or fillers.I hope this answer was helpful.  Best wishes.
