Greetings,This is something that should be evaluated right away by your surgeon since there is a significant chance of infection or at minimum and inflammatory reaction that needs to be treated right away. Good luck

When people develop a nodule after fat transfer or any filler several weeks after injection you have to worry about infection.  There are some bacteria that are very slow growing and do become bothersome until after about one month.  It can also be just an inflammatory reaction.  You need to see our doctor so they can evaluate the nodule and decide on a treatment plan. 

Thank you for your question and picture. You should call your surgeon's office and schedule an appointment for sooner rather than later. Although it is rare to have an infection from facial surgery, what you are describing are signs of an infection and should be examined in person by a medical professional. Please follow up with the surgeon who performed the fat transfer to ensure you are getting the best post operative care.

 That amount of inflammation and redness is highly abnormal. Please call your dr. right away. Tell them you're having an emergency and you need to be seen today.  If you can't get a hold of them and find out who is covering for them or if you can't get a hold of anyone you may consider going to the emergency department.  Surgical infections rarely happen this late but this looks like it could be infected and it may be a good idea to be evaluated and possibly start antibiotics.  What you describe sounds like fast necrosis but it rarely causes that amount of redness.  Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
