What about the scalp Micropigmentation technique that is very popular now? Most clinics dont seem to be operated by doctors and they advertize very good results. I wonder if someone can give me a medical/professional opionion. I am norwood class7 and I always shave my head so I was thinking that SMP might work for me
Answer: See video See the video. The guy on my video is a Norwood 7. See the SMP photos on my profile. If you want to keep a shaved look, then SMP may be for you. Many have jumped on the SMP bandwagon but it does not mean the quality of SMP is same. (Just like any cosmetic procedure)A bad SMP can make you look like a Lego Man.A good SMP is the biggest tattoo you'll have that no one will see.

Answer: SMP SMP, or scalp micropigmentation, is a painless procedure that uses highly specialized equipment and unique techniques to carefully and expertly inject all-natural, color-tailored pigments into the scalp creating a completely natural look of the patient’s hairline. A typical procedure involves an initial consultation and two pigmentation sessions to achieve the desired results. You can wash your head the fourth day after the treatment and, during that time, avoid any strenuous activity that will prompt undesired sweating. Once the procedure is complete, the results of a Scalp Micropigmentation treatment can last up to five years. At the Foundation for Hair Restoration in NYC, I work with the world-renowned hair expert Dr.Jeffrey Epstein and his team to create beautiful, natural results for any hair type. SMP can be performed by a tattoo artist in the shop or by a hair surgeon in a medical facility. The price does not differ by much. Choose wisely. Consult with an experienced hair restoration surgeon for a complete range of options that are appropriate for your situation.

Answer: Hair Restoration for NW7 by SMP + FUE In the experience of our clinic, the patients we’ve seen who have undergone scalp micropigmentation were not happy with their results. Many of them constantly worried about others noticing their inked heads. SMP can be helpful in situations where there is some hair left (sparse, low density areas), as the hair would help camouflage the SMP surface. The pigment would help create the appearance of enhanced fullness. The coloration and saturation of the pigment is usually a source of concern as well... darker SMP pigments tend to fade over time. A better solution could be to have a combination of SMP and FUE to achieve your desired results. In many cases utilizing both techniques has proven to be very effective. We encourage you to further consult with a physician for any medical advice. I am always available for a free consultation as well. For an example of a NW 7 patient regaining a full head hair watch the video or read more about this method using the link below.

Answer: SMP for a Norwood Class 7 Patient We have many such patients on our website (see below) and it is an ideal treatment for Class 7 patients. Be very careful, because many people may offer this technique, but the results can be terrible when done in the wrong hands. If the pigments are put too deep, they blend each dot on each dot and create an amalgam of ink blotches. If the pigments are not right, they will turn green or blue.We teach this subject at the medical meetings and some of the doctors get it, many do not as they try and create problems that we end of fixing for them.
