Hello, a lip flip is a great way to give vertical dimension to the lip without having to inject filler. With that said, you have great vertical lip dimensions already. Maybe your lower lip only and a very small amount.

The use of an appropriate low viscosity, malleable, cohesive HA filler injected properly along the vermilion borders of the lips can increase red lip show, add a subtle flip, while not adding unnecessary volume or distorting the body of the lips. If necessary, this may be combined with a Botox Lip Flip. However, this is seldom necessary. As these are advanced injection techniques, they should not be left to the hands of novice injectors. Absolutely! A lip flip is a great way to experience a subtle increase in the volume of the lips without altering the shape. A lip flip relaxes the orbicularis oris muscle that contributes to pesky fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth as we age. With a lip flip, this muscle is just slightly more relaxed, allow for the appearing of smoother, more pouty looking lips without adding filler. This is one of my personal favorite treatments that gives me a nice plum pout without adding filler.

The only way to find out if you'd be a good candidate for a lip flip is to come in for a consultation so we can evaluate the way your top lip moves when you smile. If you have a strong obicularis oris muscle (the muscle around the mouth), it's going to tug that upper lip down and make it curl into itself. That is a great indicator if you'd be a candidate or not. If you aren't, I would suggest having lip filler strategically placed to help give volume to the lips without altering the shape. Not all injectors are trained for this so I would highly suggest to research their work and ask during your consultation.
