Hole on nostril after open Rhinoplasty - what can I do? (photos)

Thank you for the question and the photo. I am sorry you are having issues with your incision. It looks like you had what we call an Alar Base Reduction as a part of your rhinoplasty. This is done to make the bottom part of your nose narrower and requires incisions like those on the side of the nose. The incisions usually heal very will but sometimes with the skin is sebaceous or has a lot of oil glands, the wound edges can pull away a little causing the appearance in the photo. This can happen but is easy to fix. At this point I would recommend having a small scar revision where the area is recut and sewn back together in effort to improve the scar. When there is external nasal scarring from nostril narrowing, this may need special attention. To my knowledge, scars from "Weir excisions" like yours may be improved with dermabrasion, and other deep resurfacing procedures. A small scar revision could be considered on your left, depending on your examination. Hope this helps you. Dr Joseph

It is common to have some asymmetries. Healing process continues particularly until first year. I woul advise you to wait for another few months before you decide if you would consider a localised revision of the scar.

You need a minor scar revision of the alar wedge correction. This is under local anesthesia fees in NYC $2,500. Best to see a PS to correct.
