Permanent internal sutures - why or why not in Rhinoplasty?

I have noticed that some surgeons use both dissolvable and permanent internal sutures for rhinoplasty. Some surgeons only use dissolvable internal sutures. What are the advantages and disadvantages to using permanent internal sutures for rhinoplasty?

Permanent sutures sutures are sometimes used internal to hold cartilage in place. Dissolving sutures are usually used to close the incisions inside the nostrils. But every surgeon is different. Getting differing recommendations with rhinoplasty is not at all surprising so don't let that throw you off.
