Is it right for them to keep my consultation fee?

If you cancel within an hour, you never received services, and there was no inconvenience to the docs office - other than losing you as a patient. The practice manager should see things your way, in my opinion. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph

Every surgeon/office has their consultation fee policy. I do not charge one.
There is no right or wrong answer to your questions, however, I would be upset if a surgeon did not refund my fee if I cancelled the same day as I had made my appointment.
Consider yourself lucky....you shouldn't have that one do your procedure.

YES! the initial question posted indicated you cancelled 30 minutes prior to the scheduled virtual appointment. I see your position better. But if that surgeon's office policy is no refunds once appointment is paid for then not much you can do, sorry.... You can write reviews and inform others of your experience as a way to let social media know your experiences. Good Luck. That is why I have not charged for initial consults whether in person or now virtual for 42 years!
