Hyperpigmentation darker after glycolic peel - would microneedling or vi peel help with pigmentation? (photos)

It can depend on how far apart these photos were taken. When you first have a peel done it will make the damaged areas on your back darker until it heals completely. I would recommend doing a salicylic based peel like Jessner's to help kill any active acne and reduce the appearance of the hyperpigmentation. This will take quite a few sessions. I would also recommend a prescription strength hydroquinone to lighten the pigmentation and avoid sun exposure completely.

It is advisable that you continue your glycolic peel as 1 session is not enough to see the complete results. Along with glycolic peel, your doctor will also advise you on prescription cream which you can apply. for better and faster results If you are not getting results with glycolic peel then you can also combine glycolic peel with other stronger peel such as retinol peel or TCA peel.

There are a few active acne elements on your back and they may contribute to the pigmentation. On the second picture you have many more acne elements, it means that the disease is active and I would advise treating your acne medically first with potent topicals and oral medications before addressing pigmentation.
