Hello,I am 40 years old, just finished lactation,my breast differs in size, shape and heaviness with each other: the smaller one is very heavy, lost its shape and drops, the other one is almost get back to my previous shape. An ultrasound doesn’t show any abnormalities. If the smaller breast is pooling down from the clavicle, droops more, could it be torn Cooper ligaments, and if they are torn is it possible to have a breast lift surgry?
Answer: Breast changes after pregnancy and lactation It is so hard to predict what changes will happen after pregnancy and lactation. During lactation the heavier and larger breasts will stretch the cooper’s ligaments, they don’t always retract. Sometimes the breasts do change differently! I would advise waiting at least 6 months after stopping lactation to see what any other changes may occur. If they are still asymmetric a breast lift can still be done. In some instances, one side will have more tissue removed to make the two breasts more even. I hope this helped!

Answer: All Tissues Stretched Breast ptosis results from the stretching of all of the soft tissue of the breast including the skin and Cooper's ligaments. Breast lift surgery repositions the breast skin and soft tissues to make the breast higher and more aesthetically pleasing. While this does not target the Cooper's ligaments directly, it will give the overall breast a better shape and typically will allow the breast to match the body more appropriately.

Answer: Breast lift Dear Malishka2022, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Answer: Breast lift Hi, thank you for sharing your question. Pregnancy and breastfeeding can dramatically change the breasts by causing laxity in the Cooper’s ligaments. During a breast lift, this can be corrected to improve the shape and symmetry.

Answer: Breast Ptosis After Breast Feeding I appreciate concerns, however, it sounds like you are experiencing normal breast sagging after breast-feeding, usually seen when breast-feeding is continued for several months. Usually the baby, for some reason prefers one breast, and it sounds like that is why one breast is sagging more than the other. Mastopexy is an excellent option for you to restore the shape, improve symmetry and lift your breasts. Come see me or another board-certified plastic surgeon in our area to explore the best options for you.
