Can fat cells be moved from one part of the body to another?

That is what a brazilian butt lift is. A transfer of fat from one area of the body and placed into the buttocks.

Following a butt lift more fat can be placed into the buttocks in a secondary procedure. After several months, the fat acquires its own blood supply. New fat can then be grafted in the same manor. Well, I am interpreting your question differently from the other 2 physicians answering prior to me.  Once the fat cells are grafted into the buttock of a moderately healthy individual, they will quickly become anchored into place (not move elsewhere), and develop a good blood supply within the first month.  It is important not to sit on hard surfaces for prolonged periods for one full month after the transfer.  Hope this helps!Windell C.
