Thank you for your interesting question. The short answer is yes, it can be done. The more difficult question is, should it. Many variables will determine whether or not these procedures should be or could be combined. One important variable is the surgeon's preference. Many plastic and cosmetic surgeons have been taught that abdominal liposuction should never be done at the same time as a tummy tuck. This is true when the tummy tuck is of the traditional variety where the entire flap of skin and fat is dissected off the underlying abdominal muscles. In these cases, the blood supply to the flap has been partially interrupted during the dissection, such that the only blood supply left is from arteries traveling in the fatty layer. Liposuction of this layer would further compromise the remaining blood supply, threatening the health of the tissue flap and possibly leading to necrosis (death) of tissue just above the incision - this is a bad outcome that no doctor or patient wants. It is, however, possible to do an Avelar Abdominoplasty at the same time as abdominal liposuction, if you are a candidate for that and if your doctor knows how to do that procedure. The second variable is the type of anesthesia used. Most of my liposuction cases are done under mild oral sedation and tumescent anesthesia. In these cases, one is limited by the amount of lidocaine (numbing agent) one can safely have. Lidocaine can be quite toxic if too much is used. There is a maximum safe dose based on weight. So, if you want so many areas treated that you would need more than this amount of lidocaine, the procedure would have to be broken into 2 or more different surgeries. On the other hand, if you were planning on general anesthesia, then a much more dilute lidocaine solution could be used and more body areas could be treated.Regarding fat grafting, yes you can store fat for later use, but the viability of the cells is better if used immediately. I have performed tummy tucks and BBL on the same patient on the same day and it works fine. The best sleeping position would be lying on your side, so as to avoid too much pressure on either the buttocks or the abdomen.
