Yesterday had a 30% TCA treatment, the skin has turned dark brown and not peeling yet. What should I do? (photo)

The doctor identified that I have withal warts on my left hand near elbow, and asked me to go for 30% TCA treatment. The skin colour has turned brown, but peeling has not yet started. Shall I wait for a few more days and if the peeling does not not happen and these brown spots remain, what should I do?

This is the usual appearance following TCA application for any indication - be it a peel, TCA CROSS or spot TCA (presume you had TCA for viral warts). The areas where TCA has been applied is white for the first 1-2 days, then turns brown/ black for the next 3-5 days, then sloughs off to leave pale coloured skin. If sun protection is adequate, then the skin returns to its normal colour. If sun protection is poor, there may a transient hyperpigmentation - so make sure to avoid sun exposure on the treated area.Do wait for another week for the spots to slough off. Else, you may need to get back to your doctor.
