Hypertrophic scar or keloid scar? (Photo)

Question

I recently did my 4th session of my tattoo removal. But from then I had itching which is normal but I got swollen scar on that. I got very nervous and searched over Internet. It says that scar could be hypertrophic or keloid. I have added photo, please help me what type of scar is this. Your small help can help me emotionally. Please please please

Keloid scars are characterized by their growth potential and increased degree of inflammation within the skin. Unlike non-inflamed scars, keloids have the potential for growth beyond the original footprint of injury. Our office specializes in the management of keloids, whether single or multiple, using a combination platform that includes lasers, RF, scar modulation, Parke-Davis Scar Protocols, and injection therapy. Some keloids will require surgical intervention as an initial step for treatment.

Thank you for your question. This looks like a keloidal scar. I suggest discussing this with your injector as he/she would need to review if there was a change in the settings of laser. Your treatment will be stopped for now as the scar needs to be treated. Your physician should treat this with cortisone injections every month or so. I recommend having this evaluated by your physician to determine the best treatment plan for you. Best of Luck!

The fact that this is a scar is most important.  It is, however, probably keloidal.  Your doctor needs to review if there was a change in the laser treatment settings of any significant degree.  Treatment will be stopped for now and the scar needs to be treated, usually with intralesional steroid (cortisone) injections every month or so.
