Facial aesthetics, especially on young people is primarily based on bone structure. It is facial skeletal structure that gives each person their unique facial features and this is also what Allows computer software to recognize people from facial pictures.Changing facial, skeletal structure is highly involved and is not reasonable for most people.Because the primary issues are related to bone structure soft tissue solutions aren’t going to take care of the main problem and give partial results at best.I think your facial proportions are actually quite good and you should probably leave that alone.Issues related to the middle 1/3 of the face are typically related to the maxilla.Issues related to the lower 1/3 of the face are usually related to the mandible.Individuals who have a small mandible will often have an overbite dental occlusion. To assess this, we generally need to see profile pictures. If you consult with providers working in facial aesthetics, they will most likely come up with lots of treatment options for you.Whether these are worth having is another question. Before having procedures done, it’s important to recognize and understand why someone has a certain look and understanding the basic fundamentals which again are all based on bone structure. If you want a quality assessment in regards to balance and proportion of facial, skeletal structure than that is most likely best done by consulting with oral surgeons. Who do that kind of work. Surgeons tend to be soft tissue oriented, though some are trained in facial skeletal surgery as well.Personally, I don’t see any need for surgical intervention.(that should be viewed as a compliment).I would be particularly reluctant to do permanent (“ irreversible “) soft tissue changes on your face while young.Best,Matt Hagstrom MD
