Did she burn my face or is this normal? How long will it take to reduce the inflammation? What can I do to speed it up?

That is a very normal reaction after the Cutera Excel V treatment. I usually tell my patients 1-3 days of  inflammation. I typically send my patients home with Cicalfate cream post treatment. Elevating your head at night may also help with any swelling you may have.

Welting is possible after Excel V laser. Topical, oral, or IM steroids can be used to reduce the swelling and improve the healing time. It doesn't appear to be a burn which would look like severe redness and possible blistering. Sleeping upright on 2-3 pillows for 2-3 days will reduce the swelling faster as well.

Thanks for your question. Post procedural swelling is quite normal after treatment with the Excel V. If only certain spots were treated versus a broad area it is quite normal to have some bumpiness from swelling. These should calm down over 1-3 days without problem.
