I just had 6 upper porcelain veneers put on and I hate them. They are very thick and bulky but also much whiter than i had expected. My dentist did not give me proper temporary veneers to see what they would be like, but also failed to show me how they look before bonding them.
Answer: Veneers
This situation can be very frustrating for everyone involved. The simple answer to your question is yes, your veneers can be removed. However depending on the type of veneers done, your teeth very well may need new ones to cover your existing tooth. Some simple steps may help correct your issues. 1. A wax model of the final veneers can be done by a lab to show you how the teeth will look when you are done as well as allow you to wear temporary veneers that will mimick the final outcome. This will also allow you and your dentist to discuss the color that you prefer. 2. Before bonding on the new veneers you should have ample time to inspect them to make sure they are to your satisfaction. Good luck.

Answer: Hate my new veneers
First off...I am so sorry your denitst did not go through this process with you step by step starting with a wax up that you would use for the temporary so you could get an idea how they felt and looked, and if the shade was the right. Adjustments could have been made and then when your new veneers were placed, you probably would have had no surprises. You need to set up an appointment with your dentist and explain your concerns and have them redone so you and he will both be happy. Again, make sure there is proper communication between you and your dentist this time so you both will he happy with the end results!

Answer: Porcelain Veneers and Changing them
Yes, veneers can be removed. However, they may or may not need to be replaced:
1) if they were non-prep veneers you may have a choice of taking them off and leaving them off
2) If the teeth were prepped they will need to be replaced
In scenario 2, have a game plan in place prior to doing this. Models of your teeth, a mock wax up on the models and these should be used for temporaries so you can evaluate the esthetics prior to the long term veneers being fabricated.
Hope this helps you.

Answer: Veneers can definitely be removed!
I would assume that you chose to do the veneers because you were unhappy with the way that your teeth looked. Now you aren't happy with the look of your veneers. This can happen. Occasionally something goes wrong and the end result isn't what we were expecting or had hoped for.
With veneers we don't really have the luxury of previewing and wearing the veneers before they are bonded into place. Considering this fact, and the high success of the treatment, I would say that veneers are a fantastic treatment option. Talk to your dentist and tell him how they appear to you and how they feel, and how you feel about the outcome. He should be able to remake them for you to your satisfaction.

Answer: Can I Have my Veneers Removed?
Porcelain veneers CAN be removed. Though the process of making veneers is actually designed to make them stay adhered for many years. In general, veneers can be a treatment that lasts 5 to even 20 years.
The problem you are describing is that you are disappointed with your veneers. This is a difficult place to be. First, start with a calm, objective conversation with your dentist. Explain without emotions and accusations, what concerns you have about how your porcelain veneers turned out. Then stop and listen. Try to find a workable solution. There may be some difficult choices.
You are in a place where there are no easy solutions. I would not make any decisions lightly about having your veneers removed. I would do that only as a last option.
If you don't seem to be working toward a productive solution with your dentist, you may want to get a second opinion from a cosmetic dentist. It's very important for him to know your list of what you expect before you start. It's also important that you listen to his list of what to expect. Great cosmetic dentistry is hard to do, takes lots of practice and education, and takes a fantastic ceramist-which can be expensive.
A good cosmetic dentist will help build your confidence at each step of the process.
