Doc told me to use capixyl xl serum. If I stop using it, will shed my hair again like minox?

I was on minoxidil for 2 years and then i suddenly stop i was looking for cure not a treatment. And i was going through shedding phases. Again i consulted my doctor told him i am not looking fot minoxidil such soln coz after stopping it will take away gain hair but it will make hair thin n fally. So if used capixyl for more than 3 months and then i stop will hair normally fall or it wil shedd like hail how long capixyl can be used like 10 to 15 years or 20 years.
