Drinking alcohol after HIFU laser?

Question

I’m 27 but I lost a lot of weight and became selfconscious of my lasonabial folds so I got filler and HIFU laser treatment to lift them -Shurink as I am based in South Korea. I’ve had 3 sessions of the laser so far but after the first two I have been self conscious of the lines again. I drank alcohol 5 days after the most recent session and I’m wondering if that completely reversed the treatment? Is that possible? I was happy with the results until day 7 when I feel like the lines returned. b

I believe that after getting the HIFU, the clinic must have given you the aftercare instructions, right? And maybe in the instruction note, it said that you should abstain from consuming alcohol, smoking, and strenuous exercise for at least 1-2 weeks. Since you had both filler and HIFU, you need to keep your body fully hydrated, keep the heat on the treated site(with HIFU) as long as possible so that the outcome will be better. Drinking can increase the risk of swelling, bruising, and potentially affect the longevity of the filler. When you drink, alcohol also causes dehydration, which can negatively impact your skin elasticity and potentially hinder the filler's ability to settle properly. On the day 7th, you felt like the line returned - there are a few reasons for it: the swelling has been reduce so the volume is decreased, your body lost water, the effect of alcohol etc - it's hard to say what is the exact answer for this problem, but you can visit your clinic to ask for a touch up if the nasolabial folds are still deep.
