Fraxel Repair for scar on nose after Mohs. (Photos)

Question

I had a fraxel repair treatment on Tuesday for a scar that was left from Mohs surgery and it is Satuday and my skin looks red and I have all these red dots under the skin. Is my skin burned and will this go away?

This is a good question and thank you for the photos! From the photos this appears like normal post operative appearance.  However, seeing it in person is ultimately necessary to give definitive guidance.  In our office we utilize CO2 laser (Lumenis Ultrpulse) and this is similar to Fraxel repair. The findings in the photo appear similar to what we see after C02 laser.  We see that the redness and crusting resolves by day 5-7 but can take longer.  I recommend that the treating physician is a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon with cosmetic training. All the best.

I recommend following up with your Doctor about after care. I recommend skin care with vitamin c, b5 hydrator, silicone based scar gels with growth factors and enzymatic washes with papaya enzyme. PDT therapy can help calm inflammation. Typically I recommend adding clear and brilliant, viva 4-6 weeks after Fraxel to improve results along with microneedling/prp to get the best outcomes with texture and tone.  Please see an expert.
