A lip lift does 3 things: shortens the distance
between the nose and upper lip, rolls out the mucosa and increases incisor
show.From your side view, the distance
between your nose and upper lip is too long and you would benefit from
increased mucosa show.Since you have
not provided a front photograph, I cannot tell if your upper lip is
straight.However, it is possible to
modify the shape of the upper lip by taking more centrally and creating a more

Dear susan.d~Thank you for your question. A lip lift would shorten the area between the nose and the upper red lip and cause the red lip itself to evert, or turn outwards. I'm not sure excatly what you mean by a curved look, but the red lip should look more turned out on profile view. You would also expect to see a greater amount of red lip on frontal view after a lip lift. A frontal view would be helpful for a more complete assessment.Best wishes!Amy Hsu
