I have some acne scarring I want to improve and was recommended the Venus Viva. It was recommended over more aggressive treatments because of the amount of sunshine in the summer months (although to be honest I rarely leave the house these days because of COVID). My skin has also dulled a bit as I've headed towards 40 and I'd also like to see some improvement there. Would the Venus Viva give noticeable results or is there something else I should try?

Answer: Acne scar treatment Thank you for your question and photograph. It's difficult to evaluate your skin through this type of forum, but from what I can see, you have a combination of atrophic scarring (indentation), hyperpigmentation (dark marks), and inflammatory acne. I recommend treating your acne and getting acne controlled prior to starting treatment for scars and hyperpigmentation. The Venus Viva is effective in treating atrophic scarring but has minimal effect on skin tone. I highly recommend you consult with a board certified dermatologist to have your skin evaluated and to discuss appropriate treatment options that best suits your needs. Take care and good luck.
