I had a tummy tuck 10 days ago and a breast lift with implants. Is it normal I have like ripped skin near my stitches of the tummy tuck? And My doctor told me not to take a fully shower for 20 days...what if I wash my whole body with anti sceptique soap? What should I do with the thing next to my stitches?
Answer: Skin changes after tummy tuck At only 10 days out, you should really have your surgeon evaluate this to give you the best advice. I usually allow my patients to shower the next day, so 20 days seems a bit long to me, but again, the only advice that matters here is that of your surgeon. Give them a call and I am sure they will be happy to advise.Best of luck! Dr. SubbioBoard-Certified Plastic SurgeonNewtown Square/Philadelphia, PA

Answer: Skin Changes after Mommy Makeover Good morning,This sort of finding is not uncommon after a combination breast and tummy procedure. Especially in the middle just above your incision. It has to do with the circulation to that part of your abdomen. Ultimately it should go on to heal well and shouldn't impact your result. However it might take a little extra TLC in terms of wound care. Your original surgeon and their team will be the best resource to give you suggestions about showering and any dressings you might need. Not to worry but do reach out to them.Best of luck with your recovery.Dr Nodwell

Answer: I had a tummy tuck 10 days ago and a breast lift with implants. Is it normal for the skin next to my stitches to look ripped? Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. The skin that you show concerns about in your pictures is an area that is bruised and which may go on to blister due to tension or diminished blood flow. This is most commonly seen in the skin below the belly button and along the middle portion of the tummy tuck incision. I would contact your surgeon for wound care advice but typically this heals with ointment and time. Hope this helps.

Answer: Is it normal for the skin next to my stitches to look ripped? Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well.Based on your photos, the first thing i recommend you it's to follow your doctor's instructions (no shower) and ask him about any cream to put on (like triple antibiotic or neosporin or trofobol). It is not an infection but the creams help the wound. Don't put the creams without his consent. And yes, it's not uncommon to have some tissue like that.Hope this could help and good luck :)
