Very dark Underarm and groin area: PCOD. 36 year old Asian Indian My periods are regular now without oral contraceptives used to regularize them. Am still on metformin 1000 mg daily to help with insulin resistance I guess. Overweight by 5 kgs. Do I have any long term options to treat discolouration?

Without photos there is no way for us to help. however, i have seen many patients with discoloration from ipl burns and bleaching creams and have been able to reverse some of the damage to the point they no longer need coverup/camouflage makeup using clear + brilliant and microneedling/PRP...
There is no good treamtent for this, peels can be tried and topical glycolic creams and glycolic scrubs in the shower. you will get improvement but not a cure. I suggest going to a cosmetic dermatologist with experience. Best, Dr. Emer.
