Asymmetry in childhood nose surgery (photos)

Question

Hello! I am a 37 yo white autigender woman. When I was 3 yo, I accidentally sliced my nose almost entirely off. After the bleeding was stopped, a team of plastic surgeons reattached it to my face. Anyway, the natural side is a wider nostril and it has a pointy tip. My nose is already really small, but I want to restore the symmetry. I do have a deviated septum too, but I really would prefer to restore as much of the natural look of my nose as possible. What are my options?

We can see that your nasal tip appears to point to the left side, since you have asymmetrical nostrils. That may indeed be due to a deviated nasal septum. Consultation with an examination and computer Imaging may be helpful for establishing goals. Thank you for this question! Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Based on your photographs, you are a good candidate for a rhinoplasty to help improve your nostril symmetry, tip contour, breathing, and likely other issues as well. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.
