Hi there! I've got this hollow dent on my right upper cheek and don't know what to do about it. I've had it for a while now; at 10 years old, I hit my knee on my cheek while doing a few cartwheels and it affected the appearance of my face permanently.

The dent is caused by your muscles (or the trauma to them) and the zygomatico cutaneous ligament (see supporting link below). This may be improved with a cheek filler. In the cheeks we usually use a thick filler such as Voluma, Lyft, or Radiesse. This is placed deep on the bone to give a smooth and natural surface result.

Subcision can minimize the fibrotic scar-tissue pulling down in this area, while filler (I prefer Restylane Lyft for this) to lift the skin in this area to help minimize the depression. Restylane Lyft has a higher G’ lift capacity than others like Restylane-L or Contour &mdash; but those would help some as well.
