Is there a mole reduction procedure? (photos)

Question

I have a mole on my lower cheek which is almost completely flat, but it does have a slight bump to it. I do not want it to be completely removed, but i just want it to be way smaller; maybe as small as a little pen dot, like really small that it is still visible but not as noticeable. Mole removal begins with a comprehensive examination and consultation to determine the likelihood of a mole being worrisome. Excisional and incisional biopsies are reserved for suspicious moles. But it’s good news that most moles are not problematic and are only cosmetic, thus leading to the option of scarless or non-surgical mole removal with lasers and RF and plasma. Thank you for your question and photograph. There are a few ways to remove moles, and most common methods include a shave or punch biopsy. A shave biopsy will remove the surface of the mole but can leave a round indentation as a scar, and a punch biopsy entails removing the mole completely and placing sutures, which yields a line as a scar. I highly recommend you consult with a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to have your mole evaluated and to discuss removal options. Take care and good luck.
