How soon after breast reduction can I wear a bathing suit without the surgical bra?

I just got a breast reduction May 13th and will be going to the beach early August, and I want to know if I'll even be able to wear a bathing suit without having to wear my surgical bra.

Hello,It is WAY too early to evaluate your results. You have substantial swelling.  After 3 months, you will still be swollen but will have a better idea of how large you are.  Best of luck!

Dear conosomom, Thank you for your questions. You do not necessarily have to lose weight prior to surgery, but if you plan to your surgeon would probably request that you do so before scheduling since that would affect the approval by the insurance. I would have a consult with a board certified...

After surgery we typically advise patients to not submerge under water for a few weeks. You also want to make sure your scars are protected from sun exposure. Be sure to check with your surgeon as to exact restrictions
