A breast reduction can be performed to help with issues such as back pain and rashes in the breast fold but sometimes insurance will not cover the procedure.  In addition to the functional improvement, a breast reduction also can create a smaller, lifted, perkier breast shape.  Many young patients are unhappy with their breast shape, especially when they hang down and are droopy.  A breast reduction procedure can be very helpful for these patients and help restore an overall feeling of youth.  

Hello! It sounds like you know what you want-- but it is an unusual request. I think taking them down to a nice perky A cup would be a good step, and you can see you feel about that size!  I often have patents who are just "done" with their large breasts, and do take them down to an A-- this is very manageable bra size!Good Luck

At 19 years of age I do nt think any boarded surgeon would do a mastectomy without a dx reason. You would need to receive a fill psych clearance. Plus fee $8,000 range.

A breast reduction might be something to consider, but removal of the breast many would consider disfiguring, and as surgeons we might see this as a potential harm and not in your interest. It is not that we are out to disagree with your decision, it is just that as physicians our standards are very high in protecting patient health and saftey.

It's concerning that you are so young and want your breasts completely removed.  Breast reduction surgery is a wonderful surgery and can help you if you are having problems like neck pain, back pain, rashes in the folds of your breasts, etc.  Completely removing your breasts in the absence of pathology or a genetic predisposition to cancer is not a normal request and I just want you to know that.  A lot of plastic surgeons might not even want to comment on your case, so I am just being honest with you.  You would need to speak to the plastic surgeon that you choose and explain your reasoning and see if this is the best road to go down.  I wish you luck and am happy to help if you have questions.-JGH
