What causes milia post-bleph and how can I treat them?

Milia are caused by skin cells trapped below the surface of the skin. They are common following blepharoplasties.They are easily removed by a small needle. Have your PS remove these in office.

It is not at all uncommon to have milia present after upper or lower blepharoplasty.  This problem normally resolves over time.  If the milia are bothersome, I will easily remove them in the office with a needle.  Your surgeon should be able to do the same.    

Milia occurs when the sebaceous glands are hyperactive after skin trauma. Hydrating the skin with warm water or steam in general removal of the milia will hold you until the healing process is complete.

Milia along suture lines are extremely common. They can be unroofed with a needle in the office. You could also try using Retin-A cream or Microdermabrasion.

 Milia occur when the oil glands, within the eyelid skin, are blocked.  gentle exfoliation with skin cleansing will open and remove the milia.
