Crows feet treatment while nursing?

Question

I have fairly deep crows feet for my early 30s from a lifetime of squinting and sun damage (which I've since stopped). They make me look older than I am and my confidence has taken a blow. I am still nursing my son and plan to throughout this summer until he turns 1. The problem is we have 3 weddings to attend and would like to do something, anything, to make these less noticeable. Any solutions while nursing??

Botox is a typical treatment for crow's feet.  Even though there are no official studies, nothing has been reported to affect a baby in the instances the physician has treated someone who is breastfeeding. All my patients are informed that studies have not been performed and then the decision is left up to them. Thank you for your question.  Botox is an excellent treatment for the crow's feet - it works by temporarily reducing muscle movement around the eyes to soften the appearance of the crow's feet.  While there are no reports in the medical literature of adverse effects or complications due to Botox being administered to pregnant or nursing mothers, there are also no formal scientific studies proving its safety either.  As a result, most dermatologists and plastic surgeons do not recommend Botox or other cosmetic injections while pregnant or breast feeding.Hyaluronic acid serums, like SkinMedica HA5, often provide a temporary plumping effect in the skin, and can reduce the appearance of fine lines for a few hours.  There is no contraindication to using HA serums while pregnant or breast feeding.  I would recommend discussing your concerns with a cosmetic dermatologist.  Best of luck!

your question matti36. Fillers are used to
restore lost volume in and enhance the appearance of the face. Botox is a purified protein used to address wrinkles associated with facial expressions such as the crow's feet seen around the eyes when one smiles. The safety and efficacy of Botox has not been demonstrated in women who are breast feeding. I recommend that my patients not have such treatments until breast feeding is completed. Many eye creams are available and most can be used while breast feeding. Please

The best and fastest treatment for deep crows feet is Botox / Dysport /Xeomin - known as muscle relaxers.  These are contraindicated while nursing but may be the best treatment option for you in the future.  To help soften those lines for your weddings consider skin care and CO2 laser.  Skin care would include a Vitamin C serum and good quality Zinc oxide SPF in the morning and Retin A or Retinol in the pm.  CO2 laser can be ablative and non-ablative.  Ablative laser needs a week of downtime but is more effective.   Non-ablative CO2 would be Palomar 1540, Fraxel and other brands needing 3-5 treatments done one month apart but the downtime less, swelling for a couple of days.
