Will my belly button piercing ever close up more than it has? (Photo)

I got my belly button pierced when I was 18 and took it out a few months before I turned 20. It's been almost 8 months since it's been out and the inside seemed to heal, I cant but anything through it, but it still looks the same as when I took it out. I was wondering if it will ever close completely or if I will always have this ugly hole?

Your current appearance is your final one unless you have the opening and tunnel excised.  Then all you will have is a tiny scar but it will look a lot better.

Unfortunately, the scar from your belly button piercing has completely matured 2 years after removing your jewelry. The tunnel no longer connects all the way from one hole to the other, but skin has grown down each opening to stent it open. This is unlikely to change any further without surgical intervention to excise the holes and suture them closed to be level with the surrounding tissue.
