Do fillers just not work for some people?? (photos)

Question

44 yr old woman & never felt that I was that bad to require so much filler. However it seems I get a filler, looks great for a wk then I see marionette lines, wrinkles & sagging again. Since Jan Ive had 4 vials of Radiesse, Boletero, Perlane, Juv for lips & 3 wks ago another Radiesse. I just want the fullness restored around my mouth area. I wasnt severe to begin with. Why is it so hard to achieve? Should look better no? Pic before recent treatment, Aftr is today a few wks aftr Radiesse & Juv.

It's tempting to treat just one area when you see that area as the whole problem. More often than not, there are other areas adjacent that need reflation as well...and sometimes instead of.As an example, Voluma used in the upper cheek area can pull up the face and make the nasolabial folds much less of an issue (or not one at all). By attending to only areas that seem to be the problem, it's easy to overlook the other causative factors.Naso labial folds can require a LOT of filler if that's the only area you are treating to remedy them. It's best to let your physician consider your face as a whole when it comes to fillers. What you may see as the area to be treated may be different from what your doctor sees and understands from an anatomical perspective.

I think that you actually look great after filler injections around your mouth!  You shouldn't expect to completely alter your look forever.  As you know, fillers are temporary injectables that are metabolized by the body.  If you are looking for something else, then you should consider a facelift with fat grafting by a board certified facial plastic surgeon.  Good luck!

When administering fillers: Radiesse, Juvederm and Volume, it is not only the product but how it is placed that makes the difference in how you look and how long the product lasts. Having an artistic eye and understanding of the facial anatomy is important to yield a natural, refreshed and radiant appearance.  Additionally, certain products lift and sculpt the cheeks best, such as Radiesse and Volume.  While others such as Juvederm are great to filling the lips and areas around the mouth.
