Hello, and thank you for your question. Multiple modalities are available to help reduce the appearance of scars. Dermal fillers can safely and effectively plump depressed scars, while Radiofrequency (RF) energy devices can tighten the skin, and as the skin tightens, depressed scars become less noticeable. Laser resurfacing, on the other hand, will remove layers of skin, allowing the body to produce new skin cells. To determine the best procedure or combination of procedures, I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon. Your surgeon can properly assess your nose, determine the ideal treatment or combination of treatments for you, and ensure the best possible results.
Depressed scars can be improved with vascular lasers like Yellow laser, BBL, or Excel V when they are red --- and with CO2 spot treatments, fillers, microneedling with PRP, and subcision to help with texture and blending. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer
The short answer to your question is yes. However, the use of permanent fillers can lead to permanent unwanted disfiguring consequences that may occur not only immediately, but even five, ten or twenty+ years later. And temporary fillers would be just that--temporary. However, if subcision is used to elevate and smooth the indented scar in conjunction with filler, longer-lasting, even permanent improvement can be obtained. Make sure to consult with a board certified cosmetic dermatologist and best of luck.
For this type of scar, HA filler is a temporary solution but not likely to cover the cartilage. However, skin graft is a better long term solution. In my practice, you can try umbilical cord stem cell injections.
Unfortunately this filler cannot be dissolved with Vitrase / hyaluronidase. A combination of fractional laser or radiofrequency, Venus Legacy treatments, and 5FU/steroid injections could help with the lump. Otherwise, aside from waiting to see if it goes away, the only other permanent option is...
For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest...
If you are unhappy with the filler and it is still present you can elect to have it dissolved with hyaluronidase. After that you can discuss with your surgeon how you would like to address your undereye concerns.
