A combination approach would give the most improvement. I recommend Ultherapy with Nova threads, RF treatments, lasers, microneedling/PRP or sculptra to get increased collagen, tightening and improve skin tone.  I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Ultherapy is certainly effective for tightening, lifting, and redefining a jawline. PDO threads work as well.  There are no head to head studies comparing these two approaches.  My experience with both modalities suggests that PDO threads provide more lift and tightening at lower cost.

But why not combine both treatments? We have been doing that and our results have been very positive. We start by performing Ultherapy for the neck and lower face, but using fewer treatment lines than monotherapy with Ultherapy. We then immediately add PDO threads to augment the tightening and lifting of the jawline. The results of these combined treatments have been excellent.

Thank you for your question.  We use both together to treat areas such as the neck and face.  Ultherapy is performed first followed by NovaThreads.  This leads to immediate results with the threads and long term results with Ultherapy.  Both stimulate collagen so they will have long lasting effects, however we typically say NovaThreads we can see results for approximately 6 months - a year, while with Ultherapy we typically don't see results until at least 6 months after treatment and theoretically the results are permanent though most patients will require touchups.  Needless to say this is a fantastic combo treatment and think you would do great with both.  Regards, Dr. Matt Elias
