Hi ive been seeing a lot of new articles about Sculptra butt injections ! are they FDA approved and do they work ?

Sculptra is FDA approved as a dermal filler for the face and hands. It’s safe in the buttocks, too, though that’s an “off label” use. Getting FDA approval is a lengthy and expensive process and so companies generally concentrate on testing the treatment areas that are most likely to be popular. Doctors then use their best judgment as to whether to treat other areas with the product. Sculptra in the buttocks must be diluted and several treatments are necessary. The results can be beautiful, but it can be expensive, depending on how much volume is needed, and also requires great expertise. Please find a board-certified dermatologist who has experience smoothing and plumping the buttocks with Sculptra.

Thank you for your question. Sculptra for butt augmentation is considered an off label use as it has only been FDA approved for use on the face. However, when performed by a skilled injector the procedure is generally safe. The cost of Sculptra varies depending on location and number of vials needed and the average cost is $800 and each vial produces approximately 5cc of volume. The use of Sculptra for non surgical butt augmentation is considered off label, as it has only been FDA approved for use in the face. Sculptra is a great option for stimulating your own collagen production. Increased collagen production and an increase in dermal (skin) thickness, helps increase volume. This procedure is generally safe when performed by an experienced injector. I have personally seen great, lasting results. 
Without photos I can not recommend how many vials you might need, but my practice offers 10 vials (5 per side) for $3500. We reassess in one month to determine if the more vials are necessary or desired.

It may take 20 to 40 or more vials to achieve your desired results so cost can become a factor. There are "off label" FDA use in buttock. Where it is  FDA approved in face and hands. The issue is the large #'s of Sculptra vials needed in buttock enhancements. Average #'s are 20 to 40++ vials @ $600-$800/vial would have fees approaching $30,000+++. You posed NO photos and by reading your previous postings appears you had butt implants out of country, which might negate using Scupltra in your buttock....

Sculptra in the buttocks is an off-label use of the medication. However, as long as it is performed by a skilled injector with experience, it is safe. Depending on the patient's goals, the amount of product (and cost) needed to achieve those goals can vary significantly.
