Sculptra needs collagen fibres to work as in the face it is injected in SMAS layer. At what depth is Sculptra injected in Butt?

Thanks for this question. For best results, the Sculptra should be injected in the sub-dermal level in a layered technique from different points onto the buttocks. I also like to combine Sculptra with PRP and microneedling to improve the results of the buttock lift.

Sculptra should be always injected in deep subcutaneous planes and never superficially. If SMAS layer in a particular person is very thin and close to the surface of the skin it should never be injected. For butt injections, Sculptra is injected in the deep subcutaneous layer to avoid the formation of granulomas and visible irregularities.

Thank you for your question. As Sculptra is a polyactic acid it helps stimulate collagen production and is great for facial volume loss and typically results last 5-7 years. It should be injected into the sub-dermal level and is typically performed in a series of 2-3 treatments spaced 4-8 weeks apart. Sculptra is a great product to use for buttock augmentation.  The volumes injected are higher than those used in the face as the buttock represents a larger surface area.  Buttock augmentation with Sculptra is a process that can take several injection sessions spaced 6-8 weeks apart.  The plane of injection is subdermal, just beneath the skin at the level of subcutaneous fat.  Over time the Sculptra will stimulate the body to deposit its own collagen which can provide projection, lift and firmness. This procedure is performed in office usually with topical anesthesia to minimize injection discomfort.
